INDIANAPOLIS—For the 15th consecutive season, the UIndy softball team will be among the 64 teams in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship. The Greyhounds (50-8) earned first place in the Midwest and will host the first of two Midwest Regionals this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 11-13.
The Hounds will open the regional Thursday against Great Midwest Athletic Conference champion eighth-seeded Hillsdale. On the other side of the bracket is matchup 4/5 featuring an all-GLVC matchup of Lewis and Illinois Springfield. For the full Midwest Regional 1 schedule, click here.
All seven regional games will be broadcast GLVCSN.com/uindyas well as on the GLVCSN iOS and Android mobile apps and the GLVCSN OTT apps on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Android TV.
The other Midwest regional will be hosted by No. 2-seeded Grand Valley State (40-6). The Lakers will be joined by GLIAC champions Saginaw Valley, Ohio Dominican and Missouri-St. Louis.
Both double-elimination Midwest Regionals will be played simultaneously this week, with the winners facing off in a best-of-3 matchup at the Midwest Super Regional May 18-19 for a berth in the NCAA DII Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn., 25 -May 29.
