First place: Midwest Bank
Midwest Bank, headquartered in Detroit Lakes with branches in Callaway, Waubun, Barnesville, Parkers Prairie and Dalton, Minn., in addition to a Walmart location, is the only local bank in Detroit Lakes. It was incorporated in June 1917 in Waubun as The Farmers State Bank of Waubun. Decades later, after a name change, Midwest Bank employs 94 people. 56 of them are in Detroit Lakes.
