GRAND RAPIDS, MICH., Jan. 06, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Velatura Public Benefit Corporation (Velatura) today announced the formation of Velatura HIE Corporation, a not-for-profit organization that will provide inclusion opportunities and health information exchanges (HIEs) in the whole country. Missouri-based Midwest Health Connection (MHC), one of the largest HIEs in the United States, joined as an inaugural member.
On December 31, 2020, MHC entered into a partnership agreement to become a subsidiary of Velatura HIE Corporation and the first HIE to take advantage of the first-class services offered by Velatura. The new unified HIE service organization is one of the largest of its kind in the country, connecting more than 1,300 healthcare organizations.
Backed by more than 10 years of experience and deep insight into all aspects of clinical information interoperability through the Michigan Health Information Network (MiHIN), Velatura is a national leader in HIE consulting and professional services. Velatura's three business units—Velatura HIE Corporation, Velatura Services and USQHIN—complement each other's offerings and services to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare services across the country.
