The Cardinals are coming off their first last-place finish in three decades and their worst local television ratings.
So, perhaps mercifully, there has been a reduction in the number of spring training games scheduled to be shown this year on local rights holder Bally Sports Midwest, from 15 last year to 12 now. Chip Caray – entering his second season as the primary BSM Cards play-by-play broadcaster – and Tom Ackerman, who fills in occasionally, will split those duties this spring and partner with analyst Brad Thompson.

At the other end of the spectrum is KMOX (1120 AM), the flagship station of the team's radio network, which is growing its schedule from 15 shows last year to 16 now. Longtime Cardinals announcers John Rooney, Ricky Horton and Mike Claiborne will alternate in these spring contests.
Both outlets have the Cards' spring game against the Florida Marlins at 12:05 p.m. (St. Louis time) on Saturday in Jupiter, Florida. This is a split team contest, with others on the team playing at the same time as the Mets in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Nine additional games will be streamed cardinals.comthe group website and the MLB app, with a rotation of Claiborne, Ackerman and Matt Pauley on those shows. The team's radio network will also carry certain games that KMOX does not carry and will be available to stations in the circuit that choose to carry them.
Also, Saturday and Sunday's games will be carried on WIJR (880 AM), the team's Spanish-language station. Polo Ascencio has these calls with commentary from Bengie Molina.
Meanwhile, MLB Network is set to televise three Redbirds exhibition contests, one of which will be televised locally – March 25 against the Cubs. His others (March 1 and March 14, both against the Mets) will not carry over to St. Louis because BSM has these games, but they will be available outside the BSM region. Additionally, MLB Network's Robert Flores and Mark DeRosa will be in Cards camp on March 11 as part of the channel's stops at each major league club's spring location. Their report will be broadcast at 6pm that day.
