Madison, Wisconsin has never been a place associated with hip hop. Usually midwestern cities like Chicago or Milwaukee get the most shine for their hip hop scenes.
However, that narrative is starting to change thanks to two young entrepreneurs looking to make their mark on the music industry. Christian Anderson, better known as Trust'N, and his business partner Bryce Vander Sanden, founded the multi-million dollar holding company out of their college dorm room in La Crosse, Wisconsin almost 3 years ago. After finding success as an entrepreneur, Anderson decided to drop out of school, leaving Vander Sanden behind to finish his studies in Finance and Accounting.
Fast forward to now, and what started as a hustle in a college dorm room has now grown into a holding company active in entertainment and media, e-commerce, real estate, fashion, and now music. The company's award-winning Lost Boy Entertainment LLC has been recognized as a leading PR and digital marketing firm in the industry. The entertainment company boasts a long list of top clients, including Target Inc., DoorDash, Snoop Dogg, Ne-Yo and Jason Derulo among others.
Lost Boy Holdings recently announced the launch of its new label Lost Boy Records, which will offer music distribution, artist development and music marketing to its wide range of clients. “I think the move to start a record label was overdue and necessary,” explained co-owner Christian Anderson (Trust'N). “It's something we always planned to do, we just had to time it right with everything else going on.”
The label also announced a short list of artists to focus on including Madison native BKWDS, who has had several successful collaborations with Trust'N.
