Regional natural gas prices rose for a second straight week and averaged $3.29 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, from last week's price of $3.27 per gallon, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration .
The average price of gas in the Midwest has risen about 24 cents since last month. According to the EIA, natural gas prices across the region in the last year were as low as $2.77 on January 8, 2024 and as high as $3.77 on August 14, 2023.
A year ago, the average Midwest gas price was 1% higher at $3.31 a gallon.

The average price of natural gas in the United States last week was $3.38, making prices in the Midwest region about 2.6% lower than the national average. The national average gas price is up from last week's average of $3.35 per gallon.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration's midwestern state price tally includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
