Emagine Entertainment, Inc., one of the nation's leading innovators in motion picture exhibition, is pleased to unveil the largest CinemaScope screen in the Midwest: Emagine's Super EMAX, located at the Canton/Westland location. The venue, with a heritage dating back to 2004, was refurbished this year with heated recliners and has now expanded with an additional 9,000 square feet of space located primarily in the City of Westland. The expansion area will include the Super EMAX screen as well as a new event space/party room. The opening celebration of the new Super EMAX screen will take place at 18:00 on Thursday 19 December. The official ribbon cutting will take place at 7:00 p.m. and will be followed by the screening of the most anticipated film of the year, STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. The expanded theater now spans two neighboring communities: the City of Westland and the Charter Township of Canton. Emagine invested over $3.0 million in the expansion alone, ensuring the venue's continued role as the highest volume theater in Wayne County.
The Super EMAX screen measures 94 feet wide by 40 feet high, making it the largest CinemaScope film screen in the Midwest and among the largest such screens in the country. It will feature ultra-bright, sharp 57,000-lumen Christie® 4K RGB laser images paired with an immersive 64-channel Dolby Atmos® sound system and further enhanced with a QSC Core 110f, a software-based multipurpose digital audio signal processor that delivers the benefits of QSC's Q-SYS solution. Used in conjunction with QSC's DPA-Q series amplifiers, the Core 110f provides bass management for low-frequency content in all Dolby Atmos® surround channels. Bass management combines the low-frequency audio content directed to the surround speakers and sends it to dedicated surround subwoofers. The Core 110f also provides Intrinsic Correction™, which is special sound processing from the QSC lab that guarantees optimal performance from any loudspeaker. The combination of the aforementioned technology should create the most impressive movie theater experience in the Midwest. Emagine Canton's Super EMAX will feature 345 luxury heated recliners with a special front row of lap chairs, an innovation designed by Emagine President Paul Glantz.
