CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The owners of Midwest Motoplex, a now-closed ATV dealership in Chillicothe, have been sentenced to nearly five years in prison for their part in fraudulently obtaining more than $400,000 in business loans.
The case, which resulted in the conviction, was prosecuted by Ohio Attorney General Yost's Division of Consumer Protection following an investigation involving the cooperation of the Ohio Department of Revenue, the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and the Chillicothe Police Department.
Legal action against the owners gained traction in 2016 when search warrants were executed at the business.
Over the years there have been multiple consumer complaints against the business.
On October 28, 2016, the Ohio Attorney General's Office filed suit against Midwest Motoplex, alleging violations of the Consumer Sales and Auto Title Acts.
