The road to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference women's lacrosse tournament championship runs through North Canton.
After winning the regular season title on Sunday, Walsh will host the four-team tournament this week at Larry Staudt Field. The top-seeded Cavaliers will face No. 4 Ursuline in Thursday's second semifinal game at 7:45 p.m.
Walsh (7-6, 4-2) locked up the regular-season championship Sunday with a 19-13 win at Tiffin. The Cavs won both regular season games against the Dragons and Ursuline and were swept by Findlay.
Thursday's semifinal winners advance to Saturday's championship game at 5 p.m. in Walsh.
Walsh's O'Halloran top freshman G-MAC
Walsh forward Patrick O'Halloran was voted the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Freshman of the Year.
O'Halloran led the Cavaliers with seven goals and five assists for 19 points in 12 games. He tied for the G-MAC lead in assists, tied for second in the league in points and tied for fourth in goals.
The All-G-MAC team includes O'Halloran on the second team and Walsh sophomore forward Jake Cunningham on the third team.
Malone's Sattel was named the league's coach of the year
Malone's Bailey Satell is the top women's soccer co-coach in the Midwest Athletic Conference.
Shattell helped lead the Pioneers to a 5-6-2 record and a semifinal berth in the G-MAC Tournament. He shared coach of the year honors with Ohio Dominican's Reilly Dipratt.
Malone junior forward Madeline Ault and Walsh sophomore defender Haley Dancer are among the second-team All-G-MAC selections. Cavaliers junior forward Hannah Bowman was named to the third team.

• Noah Schaub and Makena Curtis-Collins are the Great Midwest Athletic Conference men's and women's track and field athletes of the week. Schaub won his first 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:05.42 at Hillsdale's Gina Relays. He also won the event at Grand Valley State in a personal-best 8:57.89. Curtis-Collins ran school records in the 5,000 (16:21.35) at Hillsdale and the 1,500 (4:26.86) at Grand Valley State.

• Walsh's Jacob Cunniford was recently named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week. Caniford finished second in the championship division of the 5,000 in 14:29.89 during a meet at Hillsdale. It is an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time and the fourth-fastest time in G-MAC history.

• Brody Coleman and British McCauley are the Ohio Athletic Conference men's and women's track and field athletes of the week. Coleman cleared 47 feet, 5.25 inches to win the triple jump at the Baldwin Wallace OAC Tune-Up Meet. He went into the week ranked 10th in the nation. McCauley won the mile in 5:01.92. Turns into the 18th fastest 1,500m time in the nation at 4:39.55.
• Peyton Morrison is the OAC Softball Pitcher of the Week. Morrison picked up two wins, including a complete game, during a four-game weekend streak against Wilmington. She struck out eight in the two games and pushed her win total to a conference-leading 14. She is fifth in the OAC with a 2.55 ERA.
• Lacrosse goalies Molly McGuinness and Kyle Reihner set a record last weekend. McGinnis set a single-game save record with 20 against John Carroll in the OAC championship game. Reichner broke the men's single-season save record with 186 in a game against Ohio Northern.
• Ian Smith finished seventh at the OAC men's conference championships. Earned all-conference honors with a four-round total of 306 (78-72-76-80).
