Leslie Duke assumed the role of CEO of Burns & McDonnell. He succeeds Ray Kovalik, who has retired. Duke, most recently president and general manager of the company's South Central region, joined the company in 1999 as a structural engineer and has served in many leadership roles. She is the eighth managing director of Burns & McDonnell. Furthermore, Joe Podrebarac named the company's first safety officer. Matt Olson becomes its first chief innovation officer. and Chris Come inr assumes a newly created role of Chief Risk Officer.
Horwitz, a New Hope, Minn., provider of design-build mechanical and plumbing services, named President Matt Deckers in the additional role of CEO. Joining the company last year, he is also a board director of the Associated General Contractors of Minnesota. Deckers makes it Bill McCoskey, who will retire in November. The company also promoted Todd Matelski to vice president of preconstruction, and Eric Olson was elevated to vice president of construction operations, and Sam Augspurger was named director of preconstruction.
Chicago-based construction services firm The Walsh Group promoted Duane Petersen to the president of the national water department and appointed him to the executive committee of the company. He was the unit's chief operating officer and also vice president of Southeast Waters operations. Petersen makes it Roy Eppswho will remain in a senior advisory role at the company and will be an executive sponsor of its leadership initiatives program.
Diane Grossenheider has joined McCarthy Building Cos. as senior director of business development for the St. Louis-based region. He has almost two decades of experience in project management and new business development.
HW Lochner Inc., an infrastructure design and engineering firm, has hired Chris Sachs as vice president of corporate development. He will play a leading role in the company's mergers and acquisitions process. He was an investment director for Re:Build Manufacturing, a domestic industrial technology business network and also was a private equity partner at Guardian Capital Partners.
Matt Bonanno has been named assistant vice president of HRG, an infrastructure consultant with operations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Currently the leader in its practice area for civil and municipal engineering services, it is expanding its role to include all service offerings and management of its largest office in Harrisburg, Pa. Bonanno succeeds Ed Ellingerwho recently became COO.
Karen Breadboard has been appointed Chief Talent Officer of Alberici Corp. to shape its workforce development strategy, including talent selection, succession planning and employee wellness, the company said. She remains in her role as founder and owner of consultancy Karen Bridbord & Associates.
McCarthy Holdings Inc Joe Jouvenal to the chief operating officer. He will oversee the operations of the company and its subsidiaries and also manage the corporate human resources, quality and safety departments. He is replaced in the role by Jouvenal Scott Whitcopwho is also chairman and retires in April.
Jeff Krusinski, president of Krusinski Construction Co., Oak Brook, Ill., assumes the additional role of CEO. He succeeds Joe Krusinski Sr.who is now honorary president. Jerry Krusinski has been appointed executive chairman. Joe Krusinski Sr. has been an officer and director of the Chicago Building Congress and the Chicagoland Construction Safety Council.
