In the Green Market Report At the Midwest Women's Cannabis Business Summit in Chicago on November 2nd, we recognized some of the top players in the industry with the GMR Midwest Women in Cannabis Awards.
The supporting provider award went to Jennifer Whiteley, CEO and co-founder of CannaCarton, which specializes in packaging solutions for marijuana companies.
Whiteley already had an established career in packaging for a variety of sectors, including food, beverage, pharmaceuticals and health and beauty, before setting her sights on cannabis. But she brought her expertise to the burgeoning industry in 2018 when she co-founded CannaCarton LLC.
“We founded CannaCarton with the understanding that this market is critical to providing a product that helps patients get the medications they need while helping companies stabilize their supply chains,” he said. Green Market Report.
He saw a gap – a lack of specialized packaging solutions tailored to the unique needs of cannabis products – and “endless opportunities to help”.
“I quickly noticed that our clients really needed packaging guidance as they typically did not have a packaging/marketing/branding background prior to their cannabis role,” said Whiteley.
Her achievements extend beyond her own business success. She is particularly proud of the role she plays in cultivating new cannabis brands.
“Helping to launch and support so many great brands and their products across the country from conception to retail shelves is truly inspiring,” she said, emphasizing her passion for facilitating the growth of others.
“I am humbled to be a part of such wonderful people who are doing such impressive things for this industry.”
Looking ahead, Whiteley just wants to be a good leader in the face of any obstacles that may come her way for her, her staff, or the company's clients. Scaling her business doesn't hurt either.
“Continuing to help our teams and our customers overcome the daily obstacles we all experience,” he said. “Every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow as an individual, team and business!”
