The president of HVAC and plumbing company Peterman Brothers, a business often recognized for its signature service vans, has been named the Midwest Entrepreneur of the Year.
Chad Peterman will now be named Ernst & Young LLP's National Entrepreneur of the Year. This honor will be announced in November at the Strategic Growth Forum in Palm Springs, California.
An independent panel of past winners, CEOs and other leaders selected Peterman and evaluated him and other nominees on attributes such as entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and impact. The award honors ambitious business leaders who seek to build a better world.
“This award is a testament to the foundation my father built at Peterman and the drive he instilled in my brother and me to always keep reaching for the next level,” Peterman said in a press release. “I have dedicated my life to serving this company, my community, and skilled professionals. To be named Entrepreneur of the Year is just an incredible honor.”
The Greenwood-based company has seen tremendous success recently, but was founded in 1986. The company has expanded its residential heating, cooling and plumbing services to other markets in the state such as Fort Wayne, Columbus and Lafayette.
The Indianapolis Business Journal ranked the HVAC company as one of the the fastest growing companies in Indianapolis. In the last iteration, ranked 13th. Peterman Brothers is the fifth largest mechanical equipment contractor based in Indianapolisaccording to the IBJ.
It has also been named to Inc. 5000 in 2022 and was honored as the Dealer of the Year by Bryant Heating & Cooling Systems in 2021.
Peterman founded the Peterman Top Tech Academy to train people to work in HVAC within four months. He also has a podcast called “Can't Stop the Growth” to empower other businesses and inspire growth.
