Silver Dollar City has announced plans for a record-breaking $30 million indoor family roller coaster to open in spring 2024.
Inspired by the original attraction of the same name that opened at the Branson, Missouri theme park in 1972, FIRE IN THE HOLE will be located in the new Fire District and will feature “a powered gradient and gravity descent, including three drops and a fast landing. .”
Riders can also look forward to a custom soundtrack with integrated high-resolution audio, lighting effects and enhanced special effects, Silver Dollar City announced Monday.

Riders will play the role of citizens of Silver Dollar City who are pressed into service to save their city.
The theme park has tapped Idaho-based Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) to design and build the new coaster.

“Promoting the creation of The Fire District, the custom-designed FIRE IN THE HOLE makes history as the Heartland's largest indoor roller coaster,” added Thomas. “As the region's landmark, it will be a beloved rite of passage for families where one generation introduces the next generation to this adventure and where the heroes of today spark the heroes of tomorrow.”
Silver Dollar City will offer a 2024 Season Pass Presale from October 9 to October 31, 2023, during which it will offer the lowest prices of the season and include early access to FIRE IN THE HOLE for next spring.
