Col. Mike Peck, Chairman of the Illinois Veterans Advisory Council, presented Mary Carmody, Director, Midwest Veterans Closet, North Chicago, with the announcement of a $97,684.26 grant from the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.
There is approximately $1.5 million available for grants in the fall quarter. Those wishing to apply for the grant need only go to the IDVA website, Veterans Cash Lottery and fill out the application.
Grants are available for organizations that provide assistance with health insurance, long-term care, PTSD, disability claims assistance, homelessness and job placement.
The announcement was made at a luncheon at the North Shore Chicago Chapter of the MOAA (military Officers Associaton of America) in the Straits of Dover on Sunday.
