INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy volleyball team enters the 15th annual Midwest Region Crossover this weekend in Hammond, Ind., with three regional rivals in the spotlight. The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) hosts this year's event, with members of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) also competing.
The Greyhounds are scheduled to face No. 19 Ferris State (GLIAC) in a rematch of the weekend opener on Friday at 10 a.m. ET and Findlay (G-MAC) later that night at 8 p.m. ET. The Crimson and Gray are currently 14-4 this fall.
Sophia Parlantis led all players with 13 kills in the match against Ferris State back on Sept. 1 in Big Rapids, Mich., at the Bulldogs' home court.
The team's third and final game of the weekend will take place at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday with the opponent to be determined. Results from Friday's top-nine bracket in each conference will determine the pairings.
Ferris State and Findlay both own the all-time hitting streak against UIndy. the Bulldogs lead 8-6, while the Oilers have won seven of 13 meetings.
Middle blocker Hannah Sabotin paces the Greyhound offense with a .460 hitting percentage and 2.78 kills/set, with Parlanti averaging 3.42 kills/set. Adoption Claire Morris she sits just one assist away from 1,000 in her young career, where she will become the 14th Greyhound ever to reach the milestone.
