ASHLAND — Walsh University's Zach Kreft shared the male track and field honors at this week's Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships.
Kreft won the 5,000 meters in 14:13.72. He also won the 10,000 in 29:15.36. He was one of five Cavaliers to win G-MAC titles.
Gabe Miller won the men's discus (179 feet). Mitchell Dunham won the 3,000 steeplechase (8:58.06).
Kya Epps won the women's 100 (11.85) and 200 (24.12). Kelsey Hartsock won the pole vault with a jump (13-7.25).
Epps was the first female student to score. She also ran on the Cavaliers' 400 relay that finished third.
Walsh finished fifth overall in both the men's and women's races. Malone came in 11th in both the men's and women's races.
Malone's Max Gucker and Kendall Anenson earned the Great Midwest Elite 26 Award. The award is given to student-athletes with the highest cumulative GPA entered by a conference championship-qualifying program in each of the G-MAC's 26 championships.
Walsh women's lacrosse wins third straight G-MAC title
NORTH CANTON — Chloe Tatlow and Lindsey Hindman scored fourth-quarter goals to lead the Walsh women's lacrosse team to a 9-8 victory over Finlday in Saturday's G-MAC Tournament championship game.
Kathleen Mendenhall made 17 saves for the Cavaliers, who won their third straight tournament title. He was named MVP of the tournament.
